Ew, Paul Haggis!?

The Next Three Days, Crash, Million Dollar Baby and Casino Royale were all unwatchable. The only one I got through all the way was MDB, which he didn't even direct!
I wasn't excited when I saw the cast, because besides Brody and maybe Basinger none of those big names are any good at acting. When I saw Haggis directed it, I laughed out loud.

reply

You lost me at "ew" you insolent troll.

reply

I'm not trying to be rude, though I see that putting "ew" is pretty rude. I just don't think Paul Haggis is good at directing or writing. I don't understand what people see in him.
Also, why do people like Liam Neeson? I don't think he's a very good actor at all. Even in Schindler's List I thought he was just not that good. I just saw him as Liam Neeson.

reply

Well, I'm a fan of his because of a little TV series he made back in the 90s called Due South.

reply

Oh man, you're spot-on about that. The first thing that comes to my mind when i hear that name is Due South' opening credits. Pure brilliance, especially the first season.

reply

Why must someone adore a director's work to avoid being labeled troll? There are plenty of filmmakers that are generally highly regarded who I personally think suck. I have a right to my opinion and to express it without being insulted.

reply

The constant crapping on every aspect is what got him the troll moniker. He hates Haggis and every actor but watched it anyway? Not only did he watch it he comes to the message boards with that, come on. How is that troll status?

Whether or not you enjoy someone's work, calling all the actors *beep* is asinine. Liam Neeson has an Oscar nod for Schindler, I mean, get a grip.

reply

so sensitive you can dish it out but you can't take ,grow up.

Let's face it, people hate art movies. Especially when they are not expecting an art movie"

reply

imho, Crash is good.

reply

Those were all excellent movies. Sorry for you.

reply

Eh, CRASH was horrible. That one i'll give you. That is, in my opinion, one of the worst Best Picture Winners of all-time.

That being said, i didn't mind MILLION DOLLAR BABY, and Casino Royale was ok. Overrated (i actually prefer the much-reviled QUANTUM OF SOLACE, but i know i'm in the minority on that one for some reason!) but watchable.

Because it's not a very good movie.

reply

i havent seen this but im guessing its very cliched and contrived like Crash. I did think the next 3 days was ok though.

reply

Ewwww.....Tristan Carter. Paul Haggis feels the same way about you and your "opinions".

reply

So do I!

OP's got Titanic and Celtic Pride in their top thirty films of the 90's and criticizing Paul Haggis? You've got to be kidding me!

reply

Well, the dude does have a pretty versatile taste, that's for sure. Didn't mind most of the pictures he chose, especially since i, too, would name Avatar one of the best pictures of 2000's.

Clearly, you are a child. Casino Royale is the best Bond film ever.
