Am I just getting old?!
I'm on guard every time someone describes a movie as "Lynchian", because 80% of the time that means it's TRYING to be Lynchian, which translates to transparently trying to be weird as heck. I watched the first fifteen minutes of this movie thinking: "oh, mindbending! I like the sound d of that!" to: "ugggh,. Not one of these again!" The last time I got burned was with The Rambler. I watched up until the last 15 minutes and couldn't take anymore (there were some actually good ideas in that, but, again, it suffered from trying too hard to be super messed up).
So, I read some reviews here and wondered if it was actually worth it to finish, or did I make the right call... Plus, Jenna Malone is one of those actresses I WANT to like. I really do; she was fantastic when she was a kid, but good God, is she terrible.
