what is the name of the song she plays

on the piano...funny, I think it is the same as what Mia plays in "tracks." I have asked on that board too.

You know, I think you're right. How could I miss that?

I don't recall Mia playing the piano in Tracks. Did you mean Stoker?

You four-eyed psycho.

No, I meant what the OP was talking about. Remember the scene where Robyn is staying with the elderly outback couple - they show Robyn very briefly picking out a single note melody on the piano in their home, surrounded by family pictures of the couple (Robyn seems to be thinking about her own familial roots). Of course, there's soundtrack music playing at the same time underneath Robyn's playing so the melody is somewhat disguised. That's actually one of my favorite scenes.

Mia's piano playing in "Stoker" is classic.

reply

Oh. Then again, I unfortunately only watched Tracks once.

MAN! You've got to do something about that - it gets better with each viewing.

But, what is the name of the song? It gets stuck in my mind. Both "Tracks" and "Madam Bovary" do not list it.

BTW, "Tracks" is a wonderful film too, better than this version of "Madame," IMO.

I should know it, but I don't, and now it's bugging me, too.

Chopin's Nocturne in F Minor, Op. 55, No. 1

She plays this about 25 minutes into the movie. I haven't seen Tracks so I'm not sure if it's the piece you're thinking of.

Thanks! That's it. And it definitely is the same piece that Mia picks out on the piano in "Tracks", a great movie - check it out if you can.

Kirthey , you are the man of the hour...or should I say year plus, since I first asked the question on the 'tracks' board.

And now that I know , looked up why it stuck with me so long, it also is the piece that is prominent in the movie "The Peacemaker."

Thank you.

Update: just heard it in the tv movie "The Inheritance."

If it's the same song I'm thinking of, it was also played on the piano by Nathan (Keven Kline) in "Sophie's Choice."
