International Trailer

The Captive has been selected to screen at Cannes this year which is very exciting news for Egoyan and everyone involved. I only assume that it will continue on in the film festival circuit, heading right towards TIFF. It will probably be released anytime after that.

Anyway, they have released an international trailer for the film and it looks to be a return to form for Egoyan - lots of mystery, intrigue and sweeping wintery shots; it's very The Sweet Hereafter meets Exotica. The music used in the trailer does not help capture what I assume will be a much different tone but we can gleam from the images presented that it will be a very intense film.

(For those who were saying that the original film's title - Queen of the Night - evoked a certain idea about the sex trade/slavery, etc, this trailer definitely hints towards that.)
