It'll never be the greatest movie anyone has ever seen but I would say I got my money's worth. Only thing that would have been better is if we hadn't seen who was keeping her.
Only thing was...tell me...whoever had the idea of putting the girl in the little red dress in an empty van in a garage in winter and she was not even shivering has obviously NEVER lived anywhere NEAR winter.
I liked it too.. That doesn't mean it doesn't have it's flaws but it was a different take on child abduction and grief. And wackos probably do exist that enjoy that grief.
I also disliked how everyone stuck it to the husband right from the get go. I know parents have to be looked at but he was obviously devastated. Listening to what he had to say first might be a plus.
There are other issues I could go into but everyone seems to be picking it apart. Even those that haven't seen it. Why are people so geared up to hate everything?
It kept my interest and I don't feel that I wasted my time. At the end of the day that's my barometer.
I am not in the mood for another movie with a depressing end.. contrary to people saying "does it have a typical hollywood happy ending", i actually think in this sort of genre, hollywood or film makers in general have taken a liking to unhappy endings. Especially in horror. Ok so superhero movies, and romance COMEDIES, yes they are going to have happy endings.
And i love that as generally i want to feel good after a flick. I remember when i watched Eden lake it was just a bit too depressing. Also the one with naomi watts which I can't remember the name of when they get taken hostage. Man that was awful.
SO before i even attempt to see this.. can i at least ask.. and you can of course mark it with spoilers... is the girl found, does it have a "happy" enough ending?
