Of the most BASHED films I see on imdb. It's well received by Critics, Directors, Actors and by many fans... But the people who dislike this absolutely HATE it. "It's Pretentious"... Code for I have nothing else to say. Great Cinematography, Solid Acting, A Basic but Solid Story and it's a Debut Film! Yeah... Total Trash! Feminist BS! It creates atmosphere and that's more than I can say for 90% of the *beep* released every week.

I find on IMDb that alternative and foreign language films heavily promoted in Western/English speaking countries are met with a hostile audience reaction initially. Over time a film like this will be loved for what it is rather than trashed for the comparisons made of it to other directors and films. It seems sad that a woman can't make an edgy film like some male directors without being rubbished as feminist or pc or leftist or hipster propaganda.
