A little too artsy and pretentious

Not a terrible movie or anything but there was about 15 times where I was saying "Come on, get to the point!". The pacing was slowed down to a crawl at many points in the movie. It was almost like a short film stretched out to feature length.

Huh, 100% right. Definitely how it feels.

reply

I have to agree too. It's like an elongated featurette.🐭

reply

I loved it. To each their own...

Stick to your american drivel then? Plenty of explosions and car chases to keep you clapping at a television screen...did you have to stop the movie every so often to get your dictionary out and look up challenging words? Assuming you can read of course, i AM sorry.

reply

in what way was it pretentious? the only scene that could arguably come under that category was the balloon scene, and you could just take that for what it was rather than look for hidden meanings. the film wasn't contrived in any way; it just told a story.

reply

Pretentious in the fact that barely anything was happening for a lot of the movie, but yet you could tell that the writer/director thought everything she was doing was super artsy and intelligent and interesting. Obviously this is just my opinion.

reply

don't be apologetic, it was a terrible movie.

reply

Most horror movies have higher user rating that critics.
This has Imdb 7.0 and Metascore 80, typical of art movies.
Director is British, not Iranian!
