Wrong actress and the film is not explicit enough
Those are the problems with the film and they are huge problems. Hardly "small" issues.
First of all, Dakota is unattractive and too chubby and untoned for the role. Anastasia wasn't supposed to be "unattractive" she was supposed to be unstyled and lacking confidence. Dakota isn't "fat" but for a role like this that involves intimate scenes you have to be in great shape. I think Amanda Seyfried would have been better suited for the role. Especially after she did the film "Chloe".
And the biggest issue with the film is it's not explicit enough. It needs an R rating and to be much more "bold" just as the book describes.
