Not sure why Ana didn’t just go for her friend Jose instead. He seemed very down to earth, they share similar interests, and was way better looking than Christian anyway.

Because Bella chose Edward not Jacob.

She wasn't interested in Jose that way. She thought of him like he was her brother.
