It's so unrealistic for Ana to have a flip phone. It's 2015. They show messages on the screen as if they were iMessaging, which most people were doing in 2015 and certainly are doing now in 2017

The novel and movie should have taken place in the same year that the film Secretary came out.

Maybe its a period film, set in the late 2000’s.
