It follows was a metaphor about growing up and how death is unavoidable
Unfriended was a deep look into the cruelty of social media
I thought about the same thing, and I just read about this film from wikipedia. They try to give likable characters. Though, it also showed our dark side and fear of going mad.
That film reminded me that sometimes we feel really bad when somebody gets mad or yells at us for something we did. But, I feel like most of the time it is more their problem than it is ours, because they are showing their shortness in temper. The mom Amelia was mostly nice, and when she was possessed she showed her dark side.
All movies have a message. This is nothing remotely new, for any genre.
