I'm glad you added The Ninth Gate. Loved that film. Other than that it seemed like a pretty standard list you'd find on a generic clickbait site.
Horror is a tough genre to rank, anyway. Films designed to scare lose impact on repeat viewings, what was scary 50 years ago is campy now, how to gauge psychological suspense vs. visceral gore. A few examples from your list: Is the Sixth Sense really a horror movie? It has a few jumpscares but otherwise it's just a drama. Does the 1931 Dracula scare... ANYONE anymore? Is American Werewolf in London a horror or a comedy?
Just observations. Not trying to rag on you.
I guess it all depends on what scares you. Gore doesn't scare me. Being able to put myself into someone else's shoes can be terrifying. This movie really gave me the creeps. It seemed more realistic than some of the other horror movies out there.
shareI was trying to think of movies that legitimately scared me. All I could come up with are the kid flicks I grew up with in the 80s... and only because of a scene or 2 in each of them. Large Marge in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. The Owl in NIMH. The creepy cattle-headed minions in Time Bandits. The 'cleaner' in the oubliette in Labyrinth. The death of Spike in Gremlins.
The odd thing is not a single one of those films is an actual horror film. It's just that I saw them when I was between ages 5-10, so they had an impact.
