A horror movie too smart for audiences it seems

Based on the negative reaction here by retarded 14 year olds who expexted The Conjuring or some other crap, I can safely say that the meaning behind this film went completely over peoples heads. Its a shame because not only is this a great horror film ( its is disturbing as it is scary) its just a great film period! Starting with the acting, to the directing, sound design, and cinematography! Everything comes together here. I can only pity the degenerates who didn't understand this film.

Admittably there are bunch of idiots out there but people can still dislike a movie even though they understand it perfectly. I thought Babadook was great and got me thinking about the subject for days. However I can understand if some people found that the subject has been dealt with before or didn't like some particular sequences or clichés. The subject matter is uncomfortable and depressing and the characters have unlikable traits. Also since the film blurred the lines of reality, it's difficult to say how much of a happy ending it really was.

The topic had simply never been adressed directly, even mommie dearest failed at showing what the babadook brilliantly and in a much more challenging way did.

Dear oh dear what a pompous ass, how dare people have a different opinion on a movie from you.

reply

what do think the director's IQ actually is? People gush over paintings done by children and mentally disabled people too, it's a kind of mild mental illness

Yes, people who call other's names are very smart. If you have to remind yourself how intelligent you are then...

reply

I pity those who have to insult others in order to make their point seem valid. The amount of spelling and grammatical errors in your post makes you talking about intelligence even more ironic.

You see, things like books, movies, and music are subjective in their nature of pleasure. What some might find insightful and meaningful, other might detest. Calling everyone a 14 old degenerate who doesn't like this movie gives you and your post little credit. Understand now? Good, lesson over.

I am glad you liked the film. It is an okay horror film in my opinion, not great. I would prefer "The Witch" over most recent horror movies.

I can confidently say I know what is happening on and below the service of the Babadook, yet it still fell flat for me. Great ideas on paper, but failed in execution.

The world is run by 10 year olds. What can you do? Most movies and television shows are directed to be understood by pre-teens. That is the world we live in. Just be happy that there still are good scary movies being made. Who cares if people don't like these movies. The world is a imperfect place.
