IMO, Hell Baby is the best horror comedy since Ghostbusters.
Nuff said.
shareReally? Dead alive? Black Sheep? Shaun of the Dead was already mentioned, Young Frankenstein? Zombieland? Beetlejuice? An American Werewolf in London? This movie sucked. Throw it in with the Scary Movie series. Lame.
shareI fully agree with "commandercraig." I must add, however, that "Young Frankenstein" is likely one of the funniest films ever made and in my Top 100 Films of all time. "Beetlejuice" is also in my Top 100, nothing like it before or after. That said, "Hell Baby" is sorely under rated - and I don't know why. It's not the best script but the cast was pitch perfect, just brilliant. As is said, "drama is easy, comedy is hard." Maybe the viewers simply don't appreciate that "timing" is a rare asset. - As only one example, Riki Lindhome is Oscar worthy for her three plus minutes of comic delivery, while in[spoiler]FULL FRONTAL NUDITY! [spoiler] And she never lost her poise or timing or elocution or charm. As a woman I can't even imagine how difficult that must have been. Again, maybe not a "10" but much much better than a horrible "4.8" - at the very least a very high "6" and I wouldn't argue with a "7." - The movie could have been in Japanese and my husband would've enjoyed it just for the sight of Ms. Lindhome! :-)
shareShaun of the Dead
Cockneys vs Zombies
Tucker & Dale vs Evil
The Cabin in the Woods
Army of Darkness
Zombieland
Dracula: Dead and Loving it
Bubba Ho-Tep
Slither
I'm sure there are a lot more out there, but right off the top of my head I can think of 9 that are better.
Even though Young Frankenstein was 12 years before Ghostbusters, I'd still rate it as one of the best (if not THE best). Not exactly horror-comedy, more of an homage to the original films, but still fantastic.
Marty Feldman is absolutely hilarious.

And of course Dead Snow, Drag Me To Hell ...
shareAre you smoking crack? Not a chance in hell!
Ghostbusters is a genuinely classic film. This was generic schlock that was frankly somewhat hard to watch, with the exception of Key from Key & Peele.
There have been FAR better horror comedies since the release of Ghostbusters. Evil Dead 2, Shaun of the Dead, Trick 'r Treat, Zombieland... need I go on? lol
