After 30 years and 300 million dollars spent I think I know what was Scott's message.

The alien comes from men, so man is man's worst enemy. Wow. So deep.

Ridley Scott is basically writing Christopher Nolan fanfic at this point, ROFLMAO.

lol

My take was always that nature is not beautiful like every one assumes but a horrifying cold vicious killer hiding in the dark.

reply

I don't know, Ridley was away from the franchise for over 33 years wasn't he? If anything it seems his message is that sometimes there really isn't a story to be told.

reply

Ridleys focus just changed as he's getting older. He just wanted to make a film about science vs religion and made a film where both sides got it wrong. It was Dan Obannons script that comments that mother nature's a stone cold bitch in an S&M outfit.

reply

He should have included that "Jesus Engineer" from the original script. Now THAT would have been hilarious to watch.

reply

It sounds interesting but the religious undermining of christ's story would have doomed it in the box office. I mean we've all speculated the "What if Jesus was really an Alien all along" at some point in our life but knew not to make a movie about it.

reply

I fail to understand the rage against Jesus being an alien, since the term God is extraterrestrial by definition.

reply

Cause most people consider christ and god to be supernatural not extraterrestrial. Further more the religous community find the notion of christ as an alien repulsive where as most in the secular community find it lame.

reply

Supernatural or not, since gods never live on the planet we live on, they are definitely extraterrestrial. :)

reply

extra dementional too it seems.

reply

Nature, red in tooth and claw!

I think that's more like it.
