Career Criminals

I realize suspension of disbelief is an integral part of most dramas but bringing 4 career criminals in for interrogation in a police station in the USA and the first words out of their mouths is not "LAWYER" is laughable. The entire sequence just about ruined all the good work the series has put in to this point. The production team just decided to disregard or just plain insult it's audiences intelligence.

Ever watch "the First 48 hours" with real criminals? They have people wanted for murder show up because they telephoned and asked them to come down. Then many of them try to talk their way out of it and end up being booked when their story falls apart. Most of them are career criminals especially gang bangers and low level drug dealers.
