Dawson?

What did Dawson realize during that conversation with Geddes on the roof? It couldn't have been that Geddes and Agnew killed Brendan. It just seemed like an odd conclusion to that particular conversation.

Realized it's gonna be time to look for a new job once this show gets cancelled.

reply

Yeah, I realize the question is probably moot; but still. I re-watched it and it made even less sense. Dawson just goes into that ramble about the Piedmont.

reply

It is exactly what Geddes told Dawson without actually saying it with words.

reply

What is 'it?' That a lot of the cases were called suicides when they were not and Dawson signed off on them?

reply

No, "it" is that Geddes was part of the murder of McCann.

Geddes tells Dawson that he (Dawson) needs to back Dani off of Damon Callis for the murder of Billy Hobson. At first Dawson doesn't understand because he says that Hobson connects Bobeck who connects McCann and then when Geddes doesn't say anything Dawson figures it out.

I had a feeling dawson knew before that since he said that he should have handcuffed JOE to a car and put him in the river.

reply

That's what everyone assumes (and was assumed in the 2-hour finale); but I just don't get that from this conversation and I watched it several times. It was a weird scene for me, sort of a deus ex machina, like all of a sudden Dawson is clued in by this elliptical conversation.

I think Dawson realizes all the murders-turned suicides were done for Skelos. So, now he knows that they're working for the 'Prince of Darkness' and will all go down if Joe does.

reply

I thought he was thinking that corruption goes all the way to City Hall.
