Kate Bosworth's first 5 minutes

I've never disliked a character so much as I did Kate Bosworth's in the first five minutes. She was EXCELLENT. So did so good at playing a bad person. And the scene in the truck as they drive away and she just mocks Jimmy... I've never supported domestic abuse until right there.

She should play evil people more often!

Agreed. I was hoping her character died after the first FIVE minutes.

Agreed... but then as the movie went along, I was rooting for her to come through for the father and daughter. Go figure.

I hated her skanky, trailer trash meth head character.....meaning she's a damn good actress. SHould she play more bad person characters, she can be almost up there as Louise Fletcher in evil.....Fletcher's characters from Nurse Ratched One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest) to Grandma (Flowers in the Attic)to Kai Winn (Star Trek:DS9) solidified Louise as a great vile character actress, not to mention thatWinona Ryder too, gets a nice honorable mention, but just on this film.

I completely agree with you so much, the way she was talking to him, treating him like trash it made me so upset I kept thinking please just hit and slap her right then and there, I so badly wanted her to get a beat down, and I seriously never support abuse on any gender but how she was acting I wanted her to catch a quick slap or hit. On another note, great job Kate you really played your part so well, great character your so amazing for that portrayal of making many people hate you for a while, you are an amazing actress good job.

I thought she was just gonna be some *beep* character we see for 2 minutes and she'd be gone forever. Kinda surprised when this whole thing involved her.

I hated the character too,but she did redeem herself towards the end,Kate did a good job

I'm glad other people appreciate this great performance by Kate Bosworth in this film. She really made the most of her role. At the start of the film she was so evil and nasty but at the end she showed she has a human side, too. Kate has really grown a lot as an actress since she was a teenager in "Remember the Titans".

I'm watching this now...and i'm into the first few minutes and I thought...Is THAT kate bosworth? darn! she can really act!

had to hit pause and check out IMDB to see if it was her and if anyone else thought the same.
