Silent movies shown at Delfin's

I thought we today are watching silent movies running a bit fast on our screens but people watching them back then were seeing everything in a normal speed, because they were progected with the same systems they were made. So was it right how silent pictures were shown in the last episodes of the second season would you think?

Is this show similar to The Paradise?

Mr Selfridge is set at a department store and has a flamboyant owner, but it's not very similar outside of that. I consider it to be more comparable to Mad Men (but faster and more glamorous).
