I know!!

I think he's been a horrible person to Miss Mardle, and I've wanted to push him down the stairs at times, but I don't want him to die!!

I was devastated when Meryl broke down.

Yes very sad, especially with all those kids. And now I can see where the show is going for Mardle, she's going to be stuck raising his kids.

I agree. Maybe Meryl would help her and fortunately the childrens are almost teens.

i know, so sad :( kind of shocking for a main character. In real life he just married Jenny from Call the Midwife!

It's weird, I saw the actor who plays Mr Grove in an episode of The Nightmares of H.G. Wells and he looked exactly like he does in Mr Selfridge, quite disconcerting watching him play a different character but looking just the same.

Look up Spy (2011). He was brilliant there.

Did anyone laugh when they saw the picture of him in the hallway? It looked like he was glaring at whomever was at the door. It was like he just couldn't turn that persona off, even for a picture.

After cheating on his first wife with her and dumping her for Jessica Raine only days before a scheduled birthday party which he'd been planning (for his wife). Kind of ironic, considering his character in the first couple of years of Mr. Selfridge.

R.I.P dude

That stare he gave Miss Ellis when he stated he was reinstating Tilly was magnificent. I knew it would devastate Meryl to know the last thing he did was a gallant gesture which she inspired. Most parents are completely unselfish when it comes to their chidrens' welfare and hapiness, a fitting coda.

Yes! Didn't we discuss that bit when Mr. Selfridge was a new show? I seem to recall it coming up.

Also, to add further irony, Jessica and he (still married) met performing in a play about a man who is having a mid-life crisis and gets involved with a much younger woman described as a "temptress."

Ah, showbiz!

He gave that lass the death stare before he sacked her. She deserved it but I'll admit when he died I cried and my girlfriend just looked at me odd lol
