Even until the the '40s-the early '60s in many parts of this country people dressed to go out, even to run errands. Of course, it wasn't the glorious brocades and other rich fabrics that adorned the wealthy of The English Arisctocracy, but even my mama stressed the importance of dressing for the dr's office, certain other appointments, and traveling. She'd flip over in her grave if she saw how I went to the dr now--jeans and whatever shirt is cleanest and has the least number of rips! It goes like that some time...
I'd love to live during those times again, but then, I think of spending that kind of money on clothing, then that kind of time to get dressed to go out? Shudder!!! That would take a bit longer than dragging out of bed and pulling something out of the closet and running down the hall screaming for coffee!! Lol!!!

Punctuation matters.
