Mindblowingly good

This movie was fantastic. For the budget allowed, it's hard to believe it was this good. Makes Blair Witch and the PA movies look like complete garbage. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't have good taste. Just the cold hard facts. Watch it.

Lol wow. Your comments are very similar to mine in an earlier post. Not being an ass, just saying, it's funny.

reply

yea, looks like they're either mocking you or you posted on 2 accounts and only just realized someone would notice.

reply

Lol. Then I guess they're mocking me. I have this account and this account only. You made me chuckle though.

reply

I wouldnt say it was mindblowingly good, but it was good for sure, especially the last 40 minutes. That was intense. Overall fun, good movie.

reply

Wasn't even that great. Chronicle was a better movie overall. Watch that.

reply

Chronicle is definetly better than this... I love that movie... but still, this was fun, probably never watching it again though.

reply

I'm gonna have to say i thought Afflicted to be a better Found Footage film than "Chronicle".. but I'm more of a horror fan and I'm not so sure as good as "Chronicle" was it was not a real horror film... so I think it comes down to personal preference..
I will go on record and agree that Afflicted was a very well done FF horror flick.. Chronicle was also a very well dome FF action/sci-fi flick..

reply

Hmm, Afflicted did have some tense moments here & there. However I didn't feel as connected as I was when watching Chronicle. The characters were pretty shallow and had no substance on screen. I guess I liked the super hero kinda thing in Chronicle abit more.

Also have a question for you guys, what was the point of mentioning his brain condition if it didn't have anything to do with him turning into a vampire? I was hoping they would touch up on that in the later half.

reply

Wasn't too bad, sometimes you have to think outside of the box and try and not relate it to other movies, which can be difficult at times.

Audrey says she chose him because he was dying. She meant to kill him, he wasn't supposed to turn.

reply

Actually audrey chose him as a gift of life because he was dying. She hadnt done so in 50+ years prior.. She thought it was a kind thing to do for a dying man.. Although he seemed rather ungrateful the clips at the end suggest he is sort of a dexter type vigilante with his new powers and thirst for blood

reply

Nope not what she said. She said she felt sorry about his terminal condition and turned him to cure him. Of course she should have told him about the rules about having to feed every four to five days to keep from going feral. Because she didn't a lot of more people had to die. She said once you go completely feral you can't come back. So it looks like Clif is *beep* Derek I guess will have to try to take him down somehow.

reply

Yes, it is. She told him she chooses who she kills. He asked her why she chose him. She said it was because he was dying. Basically, she was doing him a favor and kill him quickly.

reply

They did. The very reason the vampiress turns him is because she knew he was dying. Is the last thing she says in the final act before vanishing. That's relevant enough, I'd say.

reply

Watch more movies, it was average.

reply

no you watch more movies your taste is average

reply

Alright kiddo.

reply

I totally agree...with all the multi-million dollar tripe out there, this was a revelation. I hope this team does another!!

I don't think he was ungrateful as much as he was rightfully enraged that she changed him into something that murdered his best friend, need to keep on killing and took his ability to die with dignity away forever. He's got to spend this eternal life on the run, killing people, starving, and remembering all the deaths he caused. It's not like he's going to have fun. Lol

I totally agree with you. A lot of horror is so formulaic or just spoon fed crap that I just rather not watch. However I rather enjoyed this one and so did the people I watched it with. If you enjoyed this check out........

Contracted (2013) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2281159/?ref_=nv_sr_2,
a somewhat similar movie except the afflicted person is a female. I'd say more but I don't want to spoil.

Also Midnight Son (2011)http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1068961/?ref_=nv_sr_1, was a romantic more realistic take on vampirism.

If you don't think this film is good, or at least slightly good, you are the idiot

I just turned 12 years old. Look, I hate when people attack others on these message boards. It was well-made and exciting as hell. Not literally saying that everyone HAS to enjoy it. Don't be so literal! And don't throw insults. Go post a message on the "Devil's Due" message boards.

Haha, nice. I'm not really 12 you *beep* But that was a clever response. I admit it. Now get the hell out of here

Get back to your Vin Diesel marathon

It was better than I thought. Enjoyed it, and might watch it again with friends.

reply

I dont think it was mindblowing but certainly well done considering the budget. I really liked the story i just think what let it down was the acting and some of the dialogue. The scenes of him turning though were brilliant and suspenseful! 7/10
