Kill himself by standing in the sunlight? Sure it would hurt as hell, but if he really wanted to off himself, wouldnt that be a possibility?

Yeah I thought so too.

I was trying to come up with some other ways a vampire might wanna self terminate, and I reckon that would be the best bet.

Nah, he would just turn into a puddle of jelly and then when the sun went down, he would reintegrate... 

I thought that too whilst watching but I think that when the topic is supernatural we have to assume that the director can make the rules. I have to agree with other posters that though going out in the sun would make a mess of him - he would recover.

Assuming you paid attention you would see he can't force that upon himself because the beast within him would force its way out and save the body
