I dont get what the caucasian guy was doing. He was filming their travels and uploaded the videos online... Why? If he wanted his friends to see it, couldnt he wait until they were back? Or just e-mailed it to them? Why show it on the world wide web?

Video files are huge. Few email providers will allow such a file to sent as an attachment. Video clips can also be saved on a server to allow viewers to stream at their leisure.
