Season 3, 1 episode down. Spoiling!

Yup, the series is spoiling... on the vine.

Only episode one so far, for my wife and I but here's what we miss - hugely!

The magical, mythical, mystical and ethereal nature of the original season.

The pixie-like "twins".
The driven wanna be Christina who "got what she wished for".
The "innocent" virginal Letha.
Destiny's former "Witchy" persona.
The sage-like presence of Peter's mother Lynda in matters werewolf and Gypsy.
The mystery surrounding Dr Galin-ova-aya-a-ya-ya.
The bumbling innocence and center of community heart of Sheriff Sworn.
Dr Pryce's Frankentein-esque mystery. His past, his super-human strength...
Shelly's giant heart and her ability to elicit heart breaking compassion and empathy from other characters.
Clementine's spiritual-warrior drive and her tragic combination of antagonists and non-supporters.

The especially supportive, indie music is gone - more lacking than I would have though is setting tones.

Another greatly missed "tone setter" is the lack of the amazingly photographed shots of the town at twilight. These were wonderfully effective punctuations to scene shifts and now those too, are gone.

Now, we have Slays-of-Our-Lives, Dienasty or twilight-lite.

This has descended into a soap-opera of the most formulaic variety.

I'm hoping for turn-arounds in upcoming episodes but confidence is not high.

Only one semi-good review on this show but all of the other reviews have nothing to say but great things about this show, and I can see why. The characters are compelling and you never have any idea where it's going to go next with the mysteries unfolding around them in their strange world within our world and every step compels us to wait in anticipation for what's next. Another thing I love is how they don't overly focus in on characters like most shows with closeup overtime syndrome. I'm 2 episodes into the third season and I have to say that this is by far turning out to be the best season yet and I have to say, I'm gonna really miss this show. Here's to hoping a network picks this show up. For a spinoff at the very least

How much do you get paid to spam this crap?

Makes one wonder.

Is that partisan nonsense or a valid opinion? I can't imagine this going in a direction which - by the end of the next episode for me - makes this season better than season 1 or 2.

The tone is gone.
