The Good and the Bad
The good was that this was an Israeli film that showed a real advance in understanding the mechanics of film language. It had a professional (in the good sense of the word) look to it, and the filmmakers clearly understand how to use the basics of film: great location shooting, editing, design, etc. But while I wanted to like this (as I do all new Israeli films, especially by young filmmakers), I couldn't help feeling that the style was all in vain, that there was nothing to the film OTHER THAN style. I kept hoping that the set-up would lead to something more interesting and enlightening, but it didn't.
But, I'm still looking forward to their next film.
