Wtf is up with all the car brand badges ??

I noticed whenever a car was being viewed up-front, the logo badge was de-mounted from the grill of the car. His SUV is a Nissan and the Det. Kanon's car is obviously a Ford but both their car's makers front logos were chopped off, although it's very obvious throughout the movie that everybody uses Sony Vaio laptops.

Wtf, like Nissan and Ford didn't want to pay to "appear" in this movie and Sony did? Is that how things work in Hollywood?? I doubt car companies pay each movie their cars appear in.

Anyway, this seemed VERY STUPID when I saw it and I was just curious if someone else glimpsed it.

I noticed it aswell. the bit where she was driving out of the police station the ford badge was obviously covered up or as you said de-mounted. I like to notice what makes of cars are in films but this one sort of ruined it for me.

I guess they went too far in covering brand logos this time. Intellectual property laws have gone nutz in the last 20 years, and some film and TV crews are super-cautious as a result.

As an extra, I once saw crew tape over the Nike swoosh on another extra's running shoes -- as if that would get noticed. I have a hard time imagining Nike taking action because its swoosh was visible in a tiny part of the screen, but I guess film productions think the company might sue.

Low-budget movie, what did you expect.

I think you might be on to something... being a B-Level Movie, the Bulk of their Budget went to Jackson and Cooper, and they didn't want to risk legal issues.. especially as the Plot is Car (accident) related the slightest mis-step in how they portray the car company, or one touchy Lawyer in Detroit and the production Company becomes a subsidiary to Ford Motor Company
