I'm so tired of Hollywood casting hardcore metropolitan US cities based characters with ppl from other countries. I spent countless summers in Riverdale and nobody speaks with anything close to a British accent lol That takes away the authenticity of the movie imo. The movie wasn't that bad overall but this always bothers me.

I'm from Sweden and even I was wondering why the protagonist was sounding british.. don't get me wrong, I could hear the effort.. it's just that he wasn't consistent.. and that's really bad if someone like me notices.. and then you get his step brother supposed to sound the same to get a voice match.. just awful.
shareAnd don't get me wrong. I've scene actors such as Idris Elba play a thug from Baltimore and hide his British accent. So it can be done. If you choose to do this at least get a guy who's good at hiding it lol

English too, but have lived in the US for over 15 years.
For me the accent was a continual distraction.
With that being said, it was not anywhere close being as bad as the moments when Jason Statham attempts an American accent!
