Trailer gives away too much

So, i liked the first half of the trailer, but then as I kept watching the trailer, I realized that they gave away a couple of twists (which they shouldnt!). So, now even for the first half of the movie, Samuel Jackson acts innocent, I know that he is not and now all I dont know is the motive of Samuel Jackson, thats it.

Yea..

Ridiculous trailer. I was intrigued by the first half but after watching it all I have absolutely no desire to see it.

Whenever there is a movie I am keen to see, I NEVER watch the trailer. As it is today, Hollywood ALWAYS tells the WHOLE story in a trailer. It is outright wrong and not enticing at all. Had they not done this with this movie, I would have been keen to watch it at the cinema, but now that they showed me the whole movie in two minutes, I`ll skip this until it is on TV some day. What a shame and waste of time.

reply

Agreed...!

They also show the ending in trailers. I stopped watching trailers regularly years ago because of it. I do, on a rare occasion watch a trailer but only if it'll be a long while before I see the film, and by then forgotten most of what is in the trailer to begin with.

reply

Agreed. Terrible trailer.

You Suck...now deal with it.

reply

Completely agree. The first half looked really awesome, but they gave away way too much. I didn't even watch the whole trailer. When Samuel L. Jackson went after the attorney's family I closed the video.
Still wanna watch the movie though.

reply

Same here. I really liked the first half of the trailer, but now it's just another run-of-the-mill thriller for me.

I agree. The people who cut this trailer (and those that approved it) really need to re-think their marketing strategy. It's obvious from this trailer that Sam Jackson actually being responsible would have been a GREAT twist. Why they would include so much of that material is beyond me. Let's hope they're smart and simply misleading all of us.

100% agreed..The first half of it looked very promising and then it went completely down hill from there

reply

Argh you're right. I stumbled onto this film and thought it looked intriguing so I watched the trailer. I won't see it now as Hollywood has robbed me of that moment when you realise that Samuel L. Jackson was the killer all along. It would be like showing the last 2 minutes of the usual suspects in the trailer.

reply

That's a very good comparison.

Even if you didn't see the trailer, Samuel Jackson being revealed is shown waaaaaaayyyyy too early in the movie. Maybe that's why the trailer is the way it is, because what happens in the movie mostly takes place after he is revealed.
