The "rich" Assistant Prosecutor

This is a pet peeve of mine with movies in general. The prosecutor characters are always portrayed as "the rich guy". Which is nonsense. An assistant prosecutor makes $80K-100K a year. It's not living in poverty by any means but in a city like Chicago that's barely middle class.

Yet you look at the house that the guy owned, in Chicago, it's easily $1M. More realistically, his character would live in a 2 bedroom apartment in a semi-nice part of town, not in a sprawling suburban home.

Yeah, state lawyers to make as much as corporate lawyers and It was unrealistic for him to have a house that big because the cost of living in that city.

Well sounds like his wife had some ties. Maybe she's from a wealthy family.

At least law and order don't portray it that way. Jack McCoy wears the sane 3 different suits throughout 15 yrs lol
