I actually enioyed it but I did guess all the twists (spoilers galore)

The way it was panned i guess i had no expectations at all, where as I rather enjoyed the movie.

But the moment Liev killed the adults and they had electricity in cars, i said "oh they want to brainwash the kids, and the army are already infected by the others"

and the moment they created the visors with green, i said "i bet green means human"

and I even guessed straight away that evan would be a rebel other.

I think that predictability, is what hurt it somewhat but 5.2 is really harsh, and it's a shame we won't get to see the rest of the trilogy with the poor box office results.

I happened to watch The Fifth Wave a few days after watching How I Live Now, which both have a very similar plot (teenage girl caught up in a conflict risks it all to save a loved one).

I wasn't expecting much from either. I knew they were for a YA audience, had low budgets and that all the best bits were probably in the trailers.

How I Live Now was deadly boring, unbelievable throughout, had unlikable characters, shoddy effects and no real sense of danger.

Now, like you I clocked all the plot twists in advance, but Fifth Wave was still an interesting and involving movie with a great moral at the end.
