Good Film
I enjoyed this. Great cast, decent music and pretty intense action and best of all the good guys win again.
Sure it did remind me of other films- the hostile/estranged hero's wife made me think of Armageddon's Will Patton, as well as the whole rather thick American pride sentimentality was similar was well. The SEAL team slaughter made me think of The Rock in addition to the thick headed commanding generals, but Independence Day aside Hollywood never seems to make many generals very level headed.
Cerberus seemed like a pretty dumb idea given the fail safes in place to launching nuclear missiles in the first place, and I really think that if I was giving out highly classified codes, I would include a mandatory cyanide pill tooth just in case the trusted people were compromised.
Still during a time when few new movies are made that I am remotely interested in seeing, it was nice to find a film that was actually pretty decent. I say 8/10. My only real pet peeve was why didn't the idiot delivering the deactivation code say pound sign instead of hashtag? Not everyone in the world is a social media misfit.
