Gutless president

He says the US doesn't negotiate with terrorists and as soon as they threaten someone he orders the person to give up the cerbus code. He says they will never get the code from him, but the terrorist were planning to put a gun to his son's head and demand the code.
Are we supposed to believe that the president of the US wouldn't recognize that at times some people have to be sacrificed? Are we supposed to believe that a president can send soldiers off to war to die, but he caves in if someone is threatened in his presence?

Too much, too soon, too long, too strong, too many,
to fix.

Agreed, he should have known everyone in that room was as good as dead. But this is a movie so realism goes out the door.

You couldn't be more right than with the title of your post!

I actually enjoyed London Has Fallen much more than I did this film (actually saw it before I watched this one).

Now that I've seen this film, it made me really curious how this, as you said, Gutless President and the also very Gutless Speaker of the House/Acting President were able to get re-elected to be in the follow-up film!

The president got shot. The Speaker presided over a difficult crisis. That the cerberus codes were given up doesn't have to be released to the public. As far as the public knows they are absolute heroes. They would be very hardpressed to not win re-election. The speaker is probably also in a safe seat. The vast majority of them are safe, only 8% of them are competitive. The competition for most seats are during the primary.

He was trying to save her life. He was confident he would be able to resist but saw no reason to let her go through with it.
