He wastes everyone's time

The show can be hilarious. I'm not questioning wether Nathan is funny or not. He IS funny. But, on the other hand he ends up wasting an enormous amount of time and money. I seriously fear for his safety sometimes. Because if this show is truly unscripted, there's no telling how people can react. Especially when he's fu*?king with their money. Or their business reputation.

Guarantee he's done more good than bad. Yes he's trolling these folks with his assured ideas (although some are creative & crazy enough to work) but regardless fans of the show have probably given these places more business. And now these business owners have a funny story to share.

Brian Wolfe got a TV show thanks to Nathan.

The caricature artist got more business because of Nathan's rebranding.

Some people had the experience of meeting a guy who they believed was Johnny Depp.

And a few people from the gas station rebate developed new potential lifelong friendships sticking around all night with Nathan.

Could you really consider those a waste of time?

reply

It's likely that most people/businesses who appear on his show are compensated in some way for their time. And since it's a comedy show and the owners & businesses are not typically portrayed as negative or greedy, it really can only help their business chance for success.

IT IS A SHOW

He's wasting Comedy Central's money, though, they are paying for a TV show so it isn't a waste.
As for time? True. But I think a number of his schemes have actually worked pretty well. Whenever he's been truly asinine, business owners have had no issue letting him know
