Feigned Stupidity Fail

When Nathan comes up with a great idea, which he frequently does, and let's the idea be funny, rather than noticeably trying to make it funny by doing schtick- those segments could easily qualify as the funniest moments on TV right now.

But when the idea is a bit sketchy, and he thinks he can make up for the lack of comedy by purposely acting stupid, it, imo, makes a bad segment even worse.

It literally took me 7 seconds to google 'cremation temp' and come up with 1400 degrees. Pizza ovens hit 650.

He doesn't do this a lot, and it doesn't completely ruin the show for me when he does, but I think the show could be better without the segment's where he's play acting stupid.

Which episode are you referring to?

I agree. Both segments in this recent episode were a little too out there. I actually thought the Sex Box segment was pretty funny, but yeah, when the idea is so obviously bad the jokes just don't land the same way.

I agree. Imo, this season hasn't been nearly as good because Nathan has been featuring his character less and trying to cram in more outrageous scenarios instead. Stuff like the childhood sports endorsements and The Movement are more about whatever crazy idea Nathan could come up with, rather than having him having awkward deadpan conversations with someone. I blame it on him being too recognizable now. He should really consider filming outside of LA from now on.
