Is this show fiction?
Either way it's hilarious and It sort of looks like some of it is scripted but fro the most part it's just really weird people doing really weird things.

shareI think most of the reactions are real, but some are scripted in order to help move the story along, similar to Borat or Bruno.
shareNone of it is scripted, outside of Nathan's intros and voiceovers.
shareAbsolutely some scenes are scripted. No way Nathan makes a stranger (the scuba diver) feel like he's trying to threaten his life by pushing him in front of a train. There are a number of sequences that you can just tell people are acting.
I'd say 80 percent or more of the show is unscripted.

The reaction was normal, yes. Another normal reaction would be breaking Nathan's neck. I do not believe Nathan would threaten someone's life as part of the show, is my point.
shareObviously Nathan is acting, but I'm just saying the scuba dude had an understandable reaction

That's pretty naive. There are definitely a few scripted scenes. It doesn't take away from the show though.
sharePeople's reactions might be scripted but everything about Nathan is genuine.
When he comes to the production crew with his ideas everyone just agree to go along with it and they don't want to hurt his feeling (for they are not sure what he might be capable of). That's how we get this brilliant show.
