A "goof" i'd like to elaborate on

One of the goof mentioned in IMDB is as follows:

The events of the movie take place during spring, yet the university is shown playing football games. With the exception of bowl games, college football ends in November.

The only indication of this movie being set in the spring is when Jenko and Schmidt go one sping break, which typically happens in March. We have no idea how much time passed between when the first arrive at school and when they reunite after montage of them going their separate ways. With this in mind it's perfectly plausible that Jenko continued to attend MCS between November and March on his own.

However, what I do think is a goof is the time in which they arrive at school - they move in on what seems to be move in day, but the fact that the girl already died from whyphy and had a schedule of classes and attended slam poetry sessions suggests it wasn't the beginning of the year. i wish they paid more attention to this part, it bothered me that they just jumped into the school year.

Couldn't matter less.

Easy enough. Some colleges offer courses that take up only half a semester (rather, options to take some of the same courses in half the time via longer class sessions). So, as some students either drop out or complete what they need and move on, new students move in half-way through the semester. Just in time to get the football in November, with a student having died already with her schedule and events.
