When I watched parts of the first episode with her in it, I thought the same thing as everyone else, that this nurse was creepy and was probably up to something. However, I just watched most of the second episode and she seems to be a more devoted, caring nurse than what she was in the first episode.

When she was washing Paul and using gloves I thought about Season 1 when he was using gloves to wash Sara Kay's body. Then when he woke up and started talking to her, I thought maybe she could be there to show Paul, in some way, that women like her (his type) can be good people. That her caring for him could help him feel what he had missed out on from his mother. However, it ended up being that he was delirious so now I'm not sure if he would be able to appreciate what she does for him or not.

I'm trying not to put a lot into this because you know how quick this show can turn tables. It's just like in the second season when Paul is talking to the woman on the train who admits she dyed her hair to keep from being the next victim. You thought that she might show up again and somehow be a part of the story but she never did. What do you guys think?

Wow I didn't even think about this. All I thought she is his next victim but Paul doesn't remember anything after 2006.

The nurse seems to fit the profile of the type of woman looks wise anyway that Paul likes.

I think her name is Kira or something like that. When I first saw her, I thought that she kind of fit the profile too. But, I thought that she was going to "fall" for him, and help him escape somehow. I mean he's cute and all. But, I have no idea what so many women( on the show) find so captivating about him.

I don't think he is disoriented at all,he is just pretending. And I think he will probably fool Kara, the nurse, and then kill her.

He is captivating because like many childhood victims of sexual abuse (who develop it as a coping strategy) he is instinctively able to chameleon-like ingratiate himself to people.

In addition, as a textbook sociopath, like with others in his life (Sally, Bailey, etc), he tells her what she wants to hear, establishes a "connection" with her, uses her for his own gain, and then never thinks about her again.

I think so, too. wonder what the story will go for her and Spector.
it is weird for me that they allow a nurse to have so many non-medical related conversations with a criminal without a police presences, she is a professional but not a psychologist, so shouldn't be talking with him under that circumstance.

This whole story line of the nurse is stretching my suspension of disbelief to epic proportions in that a) they would not restrain a self-confessed serial killer and b) they would give all his care to his very own private nurse.
Surely, the hospital would confer with the authorities to know how to best keep the investigation/prosecution intact. But nooooo ... said nurse is falling under the manipulative spell only sociopaths can cast, and she will likely help him escape.
I sincerely hope they do not go this route.

I was also really disappointed the writers thought we'd buy Rose being in the very same intensive care unit as the serial killer ... really? I'm a fan of this show and I'm liking this season, but they need to stop being silly.

Last complaint, I can't stand what's-her-pants, Stella's voice. She's going for sexy husky but in the real world, in my office, people would be demanding she SPEAK UP, for heaven's sake. Her obsession with silk blouses would become painfully obvious to both my male and female colleagues. Having said that, I must say, I do like her dusty rose silk robe ;)

What this season has going for it, in spades, is the atmosphere. I am on pins and needles from beginning to end. Really good direction, music, acting. I just hope they keep plot line realistic.

100% correct on Stella's voice, but it's not something sexy that Anderson is going for - it's because she can't nail the UK accent. So she figures if she whispers her lines it won't be as noticeable. Seen this a 100 times with US actors who can't pull off British.

She is in a man's world and has to walk many fine lines...

Between using her feminine wiles to be "agreeable" so she's not a "bitch"

Which might be why she doesn't raise her voice

Frankly, all this grumbling about Stella's "sexy" or "whispery" voice, or "unconvincing" accent seems idiotic or at best uninformed to me. But I suppose that's what one gets from people who watch a complex show and post on Twitter at the same time... or have hearing problems. LOL

It's not like Stella whispers all the time and most of the locations she speaks in actually require speaking in a low voice. By the way, Spector whispers most of the time in season 3 episodes and somehow no one criticizes the actor. Oh, wait, he undresses a lot and is a man. That is enough, I guess.

Which I take umbrage at this sexist criticism of us using our looks because it implies that Men don't use their sexuality...and that's not true. Besides all the gay and bisexual Men getting a head in life. Any Leader has charisma and what is charisma without sexual magnetism

In my opinion, The Fall has always, rather cleverly, showed the discrepancy between the appearances and the reality, while making the viewers uncomfortable by implicating them. For example, the audiences are told that women have to use their sexuality to get ahead, but throughout the series they are also shown a very naked Paul and encouraged to sympathize with him, and reminded that they are being manipulated.

The nurse is a cutie I know that much. I wish she would wash down like she did Paul...Let me stop.... I'm starting to sound like the US President Elect. 😗

She let her ovaries take over her better judgement.
She gave him doe eyes & creepy cat lick washes in awe just coz he has a cute face- she let the fact that he was a sociopath slip to the back of her mind.
I found it offensive that the writers had the majority of females around Paul giving him goo goo eyes even knowing what he had done; it was unrealistic, so much so it'd take me right out of the scene with its cheesy absurdity.

I can only think of two, and Katie was doing that before she found out. All the other women looked at him with contempt
