Two things they never really followed up on

They acted like they were really searching for the person who shot the cop in the street and then they just dropped the storyline without giving anything else away like who did it and why. Then in the final episode of Season 2, one character called another to tell them Spector was on the move but you don't see the guy's face which leads you to believe that there is something else going to happen in the third season but we never knew who the mystery guy was. It seemed like they were going somewhere with the storyline twice and never bothered with it

Wasn't this the custody officer calling the journalist? They should have done something with this in series 3, instead of a throwaway mention, but pretty sure that was it

I agree with the hunt for the cop killer. The whole subplot of the dirty cop and organized crime just went poof.

I haven't watched season 3 so maybe it will come back.
