Uh, I have a problem here with something

One thing that occurs in the film doesn't make sense. There is the wedding of Miss Piggy to Constantine, although she thinks it is Kermit. Didn't they already marry 30 years ago in Muppets Take Manhattan? Oh, wait, I just remembered that in The Muppets, they are not together when the film starts. But it just seems like once they got married in the third film, they should never have had this come up again in future films, except when they did Treasure Island, which was just them acting.

manhattan like caper like treasure island like space like christmas carol were all stand alone movies... anything that carries over or is referred to from one to the other is done for comical reasons not continuity

reply

Muppet movies reboot continuity in each one, except possibly for this one which is treated as a sequel to The Muppets (2011) but even that is open to interpretation.

If you look at The Great Muppet Caper and The Muppets Take Manhattan, there are several different origin stories and "how they met" which are different between the two.

reply

Maybe they should do more continuity, since it would be FUNNY!

reply

Yep, that's pretty much what I thought. "Hey, they're already married! Did they get divorced in the meantime?" lol. But then, this is Disney's Muppets, and not Henson's Muppets, so that pretty much says it all, doesn't it?

Maybe it should've been "renewing their wedding vows" instead? And Disney's Muppets were Henson's Muppets. What's the difference?

reply

Continuity rebooted in each movie when Henson was alive. There was never any requirement that character backstories and plot details had to match from one movie to another.

reply

Well, I think it is better when you have it, but that's me.
