Who says that? Oh, yeah, Constantine the first time he is introducing the Muppets.
As for the character Walter, they just came up with it because it was a good name. Disney had owned the Muppets years before Walter debuted.
I thought the whole 'stage fright' thing with Constantine was weird. It was like they were setting something up for later and then didn't follow through with it. Even in the Extended Edition it doesn't make much sense.
shareIt was that he hadn't yet grasped how Kermit had done it. Later, he is trying to be more like Kermit by watching tapes of him and thinking he has nailed it (he hasn't). Also, since he isn't a performer, he isn't used to being on stage.
