If you put up one song for the oscars... which one?

this IMO has the best muppet soundtrack on avg (maybe not the best song... rainbow connection would be that but all the songs add up to one of the best overall muppet soundtracks easily)

most of the songs are clever and very witty... oscar usually goes for dramatic and serious

the sequel song is great and nails it
the interrogation one is my favorite for the witty banter
i'll get you what you want could have celine do it... they do like that
the big house i like a lot but light and silly so no chance for that

any thoughts?

I'm in the minority as I found "get you what you want" to be mildly funny but mostly unimpressive and repetitious. The songs about Sequel, #1 & #2, Interrogation, and Big House, were full of sharp wit and I prefer any of them over "what you want." Something So Right bored me as it seemed to go on forever, although the part where different characters each offered their own perspective was touching. There were also great remix covers of older songs, but this thread is limited to considering songs for Oscars' best *new* song.

One particularly noteworthy moment in #1 and #2 song was Ricky Gervais' delivery of the line "I know that it's just a matter of time, before he's gone and I'm at the front of the line..." Since I listened to this song on the record before watching the movie, I assumed that there was a third character in the scene, but everything I've read indicates that Gervais sang all his songs without a dub, so I guess he's more versatile than I imagined.

I'll get you what you want 100%!

I don't think any of these songs would work for the Oscars. None of them are as memorable as Man or Muppet or Rainbow Connection. They don't advance the story.
