Hayden question post partem depression

I am a season behind have been watching on Hulu. When she had her baby she checked herself in for depression. I see her character on Nashville is also suffering from depression. Is she playing Julie as herself (Hayden) who is/was actually suffering from post partem depression? Just curious. Hope this question makes sense.

The writers actually had the storyline planned before Hayden checked herself in for treatment the first time as they wanted to highlight it. She checked herself in for a second time after filming on the season wrapped.

Both Hayden Pannettierre and her character suffer from post partum depression I think they came up with the depression storyline for Juliet before Hayden was diagnosed with it.

I saw Hayden in an interview, and she said that playing the part of Juliette, and researching everything, made her realize she needed help, too.
