Characters who are gone with no explanation since moving to CMT

So, since the transition from ABC to CMT, can anyone explain what happened to:

Glen- very important as he was Juliette's and Rayna's manager. He vanished and not one mention has been made of him.

Luke Wheeler - yes, it was said he wouldn't be back, but there's been no official explanation for his disappearance. He and Rayna were almost married!

Layla - I don't miss her, but where did she go?

Frankie - was a co-owner of The Beverly with Deacon who said he wanted to buy him out, or he'd sue. The new season picks up roughly three weeks after the last one, and no mention has been made about this. I guess Deacon just gave up, let Frankie win, and very quickly moved on. I hope this gets mentioned some time.

Cash - Frankie's bitch of a daughter, who none of us miss, but it would be nice to know of she ever paid the pied piper for literally brainwashing Maddie.

None of these people have been mentioned at all, and it would be nice if these loose ends were tied up.

Also Daphne's ex boyfriend, Luke's son. And Rayna's ex who is in prison.

Glenn was in the season premiere.

Luke was implied to have gotten together with his ex-wife. He'll appear sometime later in the season to wrap up his storyline - 5x05, I believe he's supposed to appear

Laya was implied to have finally found the music success she wanted in the last episode, though her personal life is a mess. I'd assume she's out on the road.

I assume Frankie bought Deacon out of the bar. He hasn't appeared since 4x19, so I'm pretty sure that was the resolution to that storyline.

Cash's storyline was really done after Maddie dumped her. What was she supposed to have paid for? She did nothing illegal per se.

Teddy is still in jail. There's literally no point of showing him.

Luke's son is in the military, right?

reply

I don't remember seeing Glen at all. Maybe I'll have to watch again?

With Cash, I still wish we'd hear about her fate, like maybe she was struck by a commuter train or something.

And the Frankie storyline was never really resolved. Deacon wouldn't really give up that easily. I'd like a storyline where the Beverly burned to the ground with Frankie and Cash in it, then Deacon gets suspected of torching the place for the insurance (prior to Frankie buying him out) before being cleared. You can tell I hated those two characters.

Also, what happened to that mystery girl that stole money from the register and then disappeared. I still don't understand the purpose of bringing her on last season and having her disappear without an explanation. They set it up to make it seem like she and Rayna were gonna have all of these interesting scenes and then....she was gone.

reply

She was brought in to fill the space of Juliette/Hayden I think. Literally, she appears and Juliette disappears. Juliette appears and she disappears.

reply

You are right, most are just gone.
Luke and Layla really grew on me. Would like to see them both again.
As for those jerks, Franky and Cash, I would love to see that karma bit them.

I'm a shallow guy and pretty much only care about the hot women being left out:

Cash- hotter on Mad Men, but still good looking enough to keep around.

Layla- Dang she's the picture of understated

Sadie Stone- only character so pretty that I notice her, more than Rayna in a scene.

Rayna's sister- I always thought she was pretty and overlooked

But as far as the guys go-

Luke was a crap character at first, but really evolved into something.

Frankie was a dumb ass. Glad he's gone.

Frankly I think it's too bad they killed off Jeff. Easily the best character on the show.

reply

I agree on the Jeff character. He was the villain fans loved to hate.

reply

Since Oliver Hudson was a main character in Season 1 of 'Scream Queens' he probably asked for Jeff to be killed off since he wouldn't have been able to concentrate on both shows at the same time.

I loved Jeff and Layla's scenes. She really softened him and I enjoyed seeing them go at it in regarding their romantic relationship and personal one. I was sad to see him killed off. Jeff was so damn good to look at.

reply

OK, so I rewatched the beginnng of the first episode, and I saw Glen. He was there and gone pretty quickly.

reply

I totally forgot about Deacon and his bar thing until this post. God last season was terrible.
