One of the greatest TV Shows of all time!

Nashville is a damn good TV Show, and this is coming from a Black British person who can tell you that Country Music isn't a part of British culture whatsoever, UK Radio stations don't have any country music radio stations, not one at all, but thank God iv'e got Internet Radio and can listen to every single genre of music from all over the world.

Nashville has got some great characters and great storylines, my favourite storyline so far is Rayna, Deacon and their kids, the writers will have to make sure that they remain in their drama problems because viewers will soon get bored of them if everything is always hunky dory, it's true!

Nashville - A must-watch.

Yes it is a wonderful show and that's coming from a white Australian person, we have a vibrant country music scene here going back decades. We are also fortunate to have many community radio stations here too, where volunteer presenters get up and play specialized music shows including roots, folk, country etc. Nashville is brilliant because the USA is the grandparent of country, folk, bluegrass and a whole lot of other fine music and it is a pleasure to watch I'm so glad it's back.
Cheers!

I agree with both of you guys! I'm from the Midwest USA, I've never been really into country music, but one day I saw an ad for Nashville on Hulu and was like "fine I'll watch one episode just to see how it is". Marathoned every episode after that, I got my boyfriend to watch the first episode, after that we didn't watch anything else for like a month LOL. The drama & acting are just too good. I love how characters keep going from my favorite, to my most hated, back to my favorite :)
I do hope they maintain the same level of quality with the new season, cuz it's been awesome so far!

I was born and raised in the rural South, NW Tennessee, so I've been to Nashville and the Grand Ole Opry several times in my youth. I grew up with the older artists such as Patsy Cline, Kitty Wells, Hank Williams, Sr., Faron Young and many more, and I don't usually like today's country music, but I have found myself liking most of the characters on the show (very well cast), and most of the music they've had on the show. From my view, it wouldn't be the real country music that I listened to as I grew up, but it's still very, very good music sung by good musicians.

I felt that whomever was in charge of the show was washing it down the tubes, especially the last two seasons, and I look forward to seeing what the new showrunners will bring to the fans. There were so many plots, new people, and the infamous bratty teen singer fiasco filled with so many incorrect legalities, it was difficult to keep up.

I was so glad it was picked up by CMT, and I will be watching it. I have faith the new showrunners will have a more well-rounded series.

Can't say it's one of the greatest shows of all time, but I'm somewhere in season 3 and enjoying it so far. To be honest I can't stand country music (with the exception of some of the older, more outlaw-ish stuff), but the show and its performances are solid, and its portrayals of the ins and outs of the music industry are interesting and insightful. Jonathan Jackson, in particular, does an excellent job as Avery.

One improvement would be to make it edgier; without this, I think it sacrifices quite a bit of realism. In season 2 there was a shoving match/near fight between Deacon and Luke with a lot of angry shouting, and yet no worse expletives than "damn", which was repeated several times. Seemed very unlikely and somewhat phony, and almost comical. It nearly made me laugh, and I'm sure that wasn't the intent.
