Just my opinion

First of all, I LOVE Nashville and I was ecstatic when I found out we were not losing it. But, I really hate that the story lines have gotten slow and lame.

Maddie is a spoiled brat who thinks the world revolves around her. I hate every scene she is in. I was really hoping that when she met Clay, she would simply introduce him to Rayna and get him a recording contract. He is awesome. The storyline of a black country singer would be vey much cool. But no. She has to find out that he is bi-polar and take it on as a personal challenge to her happiness. She is under-aged and yes, it will not bode well for him. Being in a relationship with Maddie will put a huge bullseye on his character and it will be difficult for me to watch.

I miss seeing Avery actually have a personality. Same with Juliette. Enough time has been spent on the whole why-am-I-the-only-one-who-survived-storyline and the my-husband-can-only-love-me-if-I-am-helpless attitude. This is not real life -- not a documentary. Things can speed up. Please let Juliette have some of her pepper and vinegar back! Avery was awesome. He and Deacon both need to come out of the background and have substantial storylines.

Scarlet is great. Gunther's pseudo hangdog expressions get on my last nerve. He is not mild and meek -- he is a hound. I think Scarlet could do better.

Rant over.

yeah, i was thrilled CMT was picking it up, and even more thrilled to learn the producers of some past super great shows (thirtysomething, my so called life, once and again) were taking over.

Hate to say it, but so far i am disappointed in the result. I can't stand Maddie and the show now seems focused on her.. the troubled-but-talented street singer boyfriend storyline is way over the top, along with Scarlet being abused for days on end by the video director guy... I don't get it.. just say you're not doing it, you're a singer not an actor. Rayna is obviously gonna back her, hell she had a complete mental breakdown on stage just a cpl seasons ago!

Anyway, the writing from this crew used to be so much more subtle, now it is like they are just slamming us over the head with heavy drama in every scene.. too much.

I actually really like Maddie and Clay but hate the fact that he is that much older. Maybe 21 at most would have been borderline but not illegal. He's 7 fuqing years older than her. Im hoping that Maddie is turning 18 very soon and this won't be a wedge between the two characters for long. I enjoyed this episode but that video shoot got way more attention than it should have. I was happy to see Will thrown in the mix. I wonder what Zack has up his sleeve, Will didn't seem to trust him that much. Im also tired of seeing Juliette and Avery go back and fourth with the same "you're only doing this because you have to." " But I love you Juliette, Im not going anywhere" line. But Im looking forward to next week.

Most states have a 4 year age gap rule, so I think 21 would still be illegal? How old is Maddie? I thought she was 16.

She's 17. Character is the same age as the actress.

I actaully think this Maddie storyline is a huge improvement, but then again, anything is better than that emancipation claptrap.

This born-again storyline with Juliette is a huge dud and they really need to give her something better to do.

I am glad maddie is less spoiled and i hope juliette finds her salvation.

Juliette never seemed religious and always came off as a heathen lol, so it's refreshing to see the character embrace religion.
