I'm growing more and more convinced that...

... it is highly plausible that Rayna will die at some point in this season. This obsessed creep storyline will certainly not end well, and honestly, I wouldn't complain if she does die, I see it happening, and how it has been playing out so far gives me very shady dark vibes.

Don't get me wrong, I like her and I don't particularly want her to die, but after all this is the final season, so it's not like her living will extend the course of the series, and I'm definitely in for some shock value. Having Rayna -the leading actress- die will leave a mark on the series, and will probably garnish great critics and draw a lot of attention. After all, the TV series where the lead dies are very limited.

I feel like she might still appear for the remainder in flashbacks or dream sequences.

Anyway, looking forward to see how it plays out...

Why are you saying this is the final season? I've not read this anywhere.

No, I don't think they'll kill off Rayna. She might become a hostage or something like that, but Deacon will swoop in to save the day.

Hasn't been announced as the final season. And with the ratings doing so well for CMT, I would expect they'll bring it back for another year.

Connie said that's she's in it for the duration so they won't be getting rid of her. She said at the Emmys that she had no idea where the rumours she was leaving came from.

Why do people keep saying that this is the last season? I don't think anyone knows that yet.

Seems to me like they are preparing the ground. I'm excited for this storyline. Don't say I didn't warn you!

If these articles are true she may still be able to do both 'Nashville' and the pilot shows depending on when the latter are filmed and what sort of roles she is going for.

I don't think so. She might still get recurring appearances, as in flashbacks or dream sequences, or something of the sort.

These rumors have been going on for some time now. First, they were put to rest after Connie denied them, and now they have resurfaced. I know rumors are rumors, but they are hardly ever baseless, there has to be some truth to it.
