Explain this custody thing to me

I don't understand Teddy and Tandy going against Deacon for custody. Maddie is emancipated so she is an adult even if she is living at home. Daphne on the other hand is Teddy's bio kid so there shouldn't be a custody battle. Now as a type this I might have answered my own question. (I dont read spoilers so maybe you all know something I don't) My theory is that Teddy is out for a day pass from prison for the funeral or some other dumb crap like that. Because if Teddy is out for good why the hell does he need Tandy's help getting custody. So if Teddy goes back to prison Tandy gets custody of Daphne. This is where the part of my brain that thinks no one does anything without think what's in it for them. In most cases whoever controls the kid controls the money. We all know Tandy has a sketchy past with money. Either way total jerks to mess with kids like that after their mother dies.

Don't know if anyone will reply because there doesn't seem like any of the new places get alot of traffic.

There appears to be more people (or "IMDb refugees" like myself) that are joining Jim's great new site everyday...it just all depends on people's interests and how quickly people are finding out about this site. The "Trending" section really does help a lot, though, as it lets you know what people have been talking about recently. I like the e-mail notifications too...you should enter your e-mail for updates if you haven't already.

In any case, I do not like this "custody" setup at all. I had the same thoughts about you when it came to Teddy and Tandy (this woman literally smells money everywhere she goes) as well. The way I see it, Rayna and Deacon should've had the custody of the kids all straightened out before they even got married. As for Teddy, he is indeed still in jail and should not be out without any explanation. However, if Callie Khouri and CMT fail to explain this properly, then I fear that it will only hurt the ratings even more now that Connie is gone. Myself personally, I feel that this the worst storyline coming from this show since Lennon Stella's now infamous "emancipation" storyline with her character of Maddie. I also hate the fact that they are turning this into the "Maddie" show and I cannot stand Damien either, who Scarlett so stupidly instantly "fell in love" with despite the fact that he verbally abused her during one of the worst episodes of the series...when they made that trashy looking music video.

In summary, I might be giving this series just one or two more episodes and if it doesn't improve, then it looks like I might be done with it for good this time.
