The Doctor

The doctor in the movie was pathetic. The girl looked like she needed the ER by her second visit to him.

1000X this

I have a family doctor just like him. His indifference is mindblowing to the point of hilarity.

The doctor scenes were some of the worst I've seen in a long time.

Here's a list of errors that no doctor would make:

1. He auscultated her heart and lungs in one spot only. Any reasonable doctor would at least listen to the 4 main lobes of the lung and at least a couple for the heart.

2. He used the otoscope (the thing to look in ears) without a speculum on the end. That's gross.

3. He didn't use the otoscope to look at her throat. Everyone I've ever seen has used some light source.

4. He didn't ask anything about her sexual habits until after he saw the rash. A couple things here. No STDs give you an isolated rash on the lower abdomen. A real doctor would have asked all these questions during the initial interview.

5. "lowering the immune system" does not "lower your heart rate" That's just silly.

6. If there was a concern about an STD, the doctor would have done a pelvic exam and collected swabs for tests.

7. On the second encounter, no doctor sees that and thinks "that looks like an STD."

And no blood work done on the first visit either.

What STD exposure shows up as a rash within 48 hours of exposure? Most infectious diseases require a couple of days before showing signs.

Most women I know want a female gynecologist and after seeing this guy I can see why. Doctors can be weird and impersonal sometimes, but I can see where anything gynecological, sex, etc would just not mesh with mixed gender medical doctors.

I thought 48 hours was a couple of days?

And he pulls her pants down for her to do a gynecological exam?? NO. He would have provided her with a robe and left the room so she could change.

reply

And no other employee present during the exam part. (Medical Asst, LPN etc.) I'm sorry, but NO physician is viewing/examining/evaluating my bloody STD rash without a witness present. I mean even if the assistant is just setting up a tray or there to help collect specimen, someone should be in the room during that type of exam.

reply

And what male doctor would attempt to perform an exam on a woman without a female nurse present.

reply

I thought the exact same thing as everyone else... This Doc is retarded, incompetent, etc.... At the end of the sequel after the credits there's a scene which explains the doctor quite well.

reply

Don't plan on watching the sequel. Can you spoil it for me about the doctor?

reply

I was thinking the same thing but it looks like she was minimizing everything even to the doctor. She didn't even show him her eyes till he said her blood work needed a few days to come back. So it makes you wonder if she told him everything else?

reply

Did the doctor even wear gloves?

reply

I think it's great how you guys are going on about his methodology and no one addresses the obvious. WORST ACTOR EVER. So distracting.
