I would advise against kids that young watching it. There are themes of not only murder but post-mortem rape. There's a scene with an attempted rape. Also, there's a few times where you see drawings made by the killer depicting very disturbing, graphic, gruesome murder/sex scenes. Hope that helped.

A 12 year old? Maybe. But an adult would definitely need to watch the show with a child this age to discuss the subject matter.
There are some very violent images and events in this series. I would really encourage anyone to watch the series first before allowing a pre-teen to watch it.
I agree. The first series (I'm rewatching it now),deals with violent murder and rape of women. That's pretty tough stuff even for a 12 year old.

shareI disagree. I think the production standards are great. They had to get cars, trains, clothes, newspapers, etc that all had a period feel.nthey also desaturated the color to make London seem a gray, wet place (which I believe it is)
